My Stuff Image Annotations
Looks like I didn’t publish any interesting content for a while now… Please excuse me for this. It was pretty busy in the last few weeks and since the pressure is down a little now, I’m able to come back for writing content
Yay!
I finally finished the annotations plug-in of My Stuff, the idea for which I took from, you might guess right, dannychoo.com – JQuery Plugins. Danny and his team, like he tells, took the basis for this thing from http://www.flipbit.co.uk/jquery-image-annotation.html (A ready image annotations JQuery plug-in) and changed it to fit their system.
Well, in my case I wrote the whole thing from start to finish O_O Not an easy task if I might add, took me enough time but I definitely like the outcome.
As far as I’m familiar with the subject, one of the first sources for this functionality came from flicker after which facebook implemented it as well. So, now it’s my turn to point at stuff and comment on them visually…
For now the version of this thingy is beta (like Terminator 3 Beta) which means, if you experience any trouble with the plug in, it doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear what you think about My Stuff’s swords or cakes, but that there might be bugs, therefore, you are welcome to contact me about any trouble you are having and should not.

So, where were we… Ah, image annotations, the thingy works pretty simple, whenever you hover over a photo in an article you can see the notes other people wrote before, to read each note, just hover over it with your hamster… I mean mouse
You can also click a note’s frame if the note is too long to fit in the panel to go down to the comments and read the whole thing, where also… you can reply to a it. Since the plug-in is based on JavaScript and loads after the page is loaded into your browser, it might take a bit of time for the notes to be displayed, although if you are using a fast connection to the Internet you shouldn’t feel much delay
How to put a note on a certain photo? That, folks, is very simple! Just hover over a photo and there a little link would pop in the corner, click the link and you shall be provided a new note creating thingy. Drag it, resize it, place it wherever you like, then write what you have in mind. After which your note will be saved to the comments and you can view it down there and on the image where you put it, right after you refresh the page.
What’s more, starting today the comment form in the bottom will require no registration, although the image annotation does so
Also like you noticed there are much feeds and links in the My Stuff footer, that is actually for you! (surprised? hehe well…). If you own a website, blog or whatever, and you’d like to share your content with My Stuff, please do send me a message to share our content between our sites… Isn’t it what it’s all about?

Enjoy the new thingy and I’ll post new stuff very soon!

Our battle has just begun!
Annotation inside annotation, (style inception)
Just for the post
Maybe the next upgrades would bring triple level annotations, and then it would indeed be like Inception hehe http://bit.ly/bPm5TW
I have the same opinion with most of your points, but some need to be discussed further, I will hold a small conversation with my buddies and perhaps I will ask you some opinion soon.
