Another Wacom (2 is better than 1)
As if my new Wacom wasn’t enough, but I decided to get another Wacom, little one but still a Wacom, for my laptop. The idea behind this kind of action is mobility. I just figured I would need the ability to draw with free hand when I’m out of my studio and away from my main workstation and besides this one didn’t cost me anything even
just left a deposit check for my collage and got one for free till the end of my studies (Although now, it’s just up to me not to step on it, break it or throw it out the window
)
So, what do we have here?…

The Wacom Volito, this one comes in a much liter box than the previous one. It has a small, much simpler pen in the package, no eraser option no grips and not even additional pen tips, just a pen + 2 buttons + your hand (but that is not included). With that comes a tablet (I got the bluish one
) – much smaller than my other one, no buttons at all, just a drawing area and a little hole for the pen to stick in.
Less features, more mobility & simplicity, I believe…

The pen is nothing like my main pen of my Wacom Intuos4, in short it’s just a piece of plastic with a pen tip and 2 buttons. Nevertheless, it doesn’t hold it from costing 30-40$!
Let’s keep this one safe, shall we…

It’s size allows me to stick it in my bag, take it on trips wherever I want and work on my graphics whenever I need…
Like for example at my local coffee shop, that could be fun!

Driver was a bit hard to find, it’s because it’s not a major model and the only clue it had on it’s back is the model number – FT-0405-U – which by the Wacom website converts to the Wacom Volito. Settings for the tablet, by the way, aren’t much either, just the functions for the 2 buttons on the pen and pressure sensitivity meter, oh and a few more minor stuff.

I gotta say the pressure sensitivity is kind of harsh comparing to the Intuos4, or should I say “nothing comparing to”. It feels the pressure in all the software I need to work with but I need to press a bit harder to get what I want
(The Intuos4 feels my intentions for me – even before I touched the tablet with my pen).
..Last sentence was a lie…

So basically it’s a cute little model which is nice and handy to grab with you when you go somewhere and need to work on graphics with your free hand there (Or in the bank when your signature is needed on a computer), but if more power, quality and usability is needed, you better get something more serious than that, not to mention the fact that my laptop doesn’t allow much power when it comes to graphics hehe
so if more graphical power is needed I better use my workstation in my studio.
Speaking of power, that reminds me of a tablet screen I saw at the Apple store… Costs a fortune but looks really good
Hope that was helpful to anyone out there who was wondering about different Wacom models, you be welcome to share your experiences with Wacoms or other equipment and questions are welcome too of course…
See ya…

I thought this part was being unscrewed… But no, it doesn’t
Best pencil ever!
The pen of the Volito is a bit tougher than the Intuos4 http://ow.ly/3x9Qw
Love it
